Presidential 2022: Eric Zemmour credited with 15% of voting intentions, neck and neck with Marine Le Pen

If the first round of the 2022 presidential election took place this Sunday and if he was a candidate, the polemicist Eric Zemmour would be credited with 15% of voting intentions, according to a poll made public this Friday, October 1. He would thus catch up with the candidate of the National Rally, Marine Le Pen, second, only one point ahead of him (16%).

The one who is said to be able to embody “the union of the rights” could, according to this Ipsos Sopra-Steria survey for franceinfo and Le Parisien, to benefit from a transfer of votes from the right and the far right.

In a configuration where it would be Xavier Bertrand who would wear the colors of the right, the latter would thus arrive in fourth place (14%), when Nicolas Dupont-Aignan would painfully reach 1.5%. Especially Marine Le Pen, she loses nine points compared to the last study published two weeks ago. Emmanuel Macron remains first, at 24%.

However, if a potential candidacy of Eric Zemmour makes the rights tremble, the study shows that it has no consequences on left-wing candidates, like Anne Hidalgo (PS) who remains at 5% of the intentions of vote and Yannick Jadot (The Greens) at 9%.

Highly observed polls

While waiting for a possible announcement of candidacy, Eric Zemmour continues anyway to ensure the promotion of his latest book, “France has not said its last word” (Ed. Rubempr√©). This Friday, he was for example in Valenciennes (North) where he had lunch with several business leaders.

This Saturday, the polemicist is also expected at the Grand Palais in Lille (North) for a conference in front of 1,500 people. According to the potential presidential candidate, this is not, however, a political rally. “It is the people who come who transform it into a meeting”, he qualified at the microphone of CNEWS.

The Ipsos Sopra-Steria poll was very noticed insofar as it marks a “leap” compared to another study, published Thursday, this time placing Eric Zemmour at 10% of voting intentions. In this other OpinionWay survey for CNEWS and Les Echos, the polemicist thus appears as the fourth man insofar as Emmanuel Macron is still in the lead (24%), followed by Marine Le Pen (20%) and Xavier Bertrand (15% ).
