President Turk Erdogan announced early elections

Ankara: The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has indicated that the elections in the country will be held a month earlier.

According to Turkish media, the elections may be held before the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic. Turkey’s next general election is officially scheduled to be held on June 18.

Erdogan’s allies have also been hinting for early elections for several weeks, but the parliament will make the final decision on the exact date of the elections.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his address to the Parliament gave the indication to hold the elections ahead of time. He said that I intend to hold the general elections a month earlier on May 14.

On the other hand, the Turkish opposition could not agree on a candidate despite a year of talks. 6 opposition politicians will meet again on January 26 for the presidential candidate.
