President of an Asian country resigns over corruption allegations

Vietnam’s President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has resigned due to alleged actions or arrests against him in corruption cases and intense public pressure.

According to foreign media, the head of state has also knelt down after the vice prime ministers and President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has resigned from his post due to the allegations of corruption in the South Asian country of Vietnam.

According to the report, anti-corruption campaigns are underway in Vietnam, which is strongly supported by the Communist Party and the people, and as a result, many key positions in the country have been clamped down on. During this campaign, the Deputy Prime Ministers were sacked in the past days.

Nguyen Xuan Phuc who was elected as the President of Vietnam last year in 2021. He could not remain in office even for a year and his resignation was revealed amid the clamor of voices against corruption.

The Communist Party also blamed Nguyen Xuan for the corruption of senior ministers under him as Prime Minister from 2016 to 2021, after which he was being harassed.

He took this decision after intense public pressure in view of the fear of alleged action or arrest against him.

The report said that the Vietnamese president was likely to be fired and arrested on corruption charges, but before this extreme step, he resigned on his own and cited personal commitments as the reason.

It should be noted that even before Shuan, the former president had resigned from his post and he said that he could not take on more responsibilities due to his ill health.
