President Abinader begins work on the Community Sports Center

President Luis Abinader gave this Sunday the first palazo to start the construction work of the first Community Sports Center (CDC) in the southern region.

The work will be built in the municipality of Sabana Yegua, in the province of Azua, with an investment of more than 20 million pesos.

Along with the president, the event was led by the Minister of Sports, Francisco Camacho, and the Vice Ministers Franklin De la Mota and Kennedy Vargaz; Senator Lía Díaz Santana; the governor of Azua, Ángela Pérez Díaz; Mayor Guillermo Comas, and Deputies Carlos Ramírez and Brenda Ogando, among others.

Speaking at the event, the Minister of Sports, Francisco Camacho, said that the government of President Luis Abinader, with the start of construction of the sports center in Azua, continues with its policy of erecting modern and functional sports facilities throughout the country.

Engineer Camacho said that the entire southern region has benefited from the sports policy of President Abinader and pointed out that the most favored of this execution are children and young people, as well as the general population, who have a place of recreation.

“President Abinader comes to fill a great void, because for years the town of Azua longed to have a facility to hold important events comfortably and with all the facilities,” said Camacho when speaking at the inauguration ceremony. next to the central court of the Sabana Yegua municipality, of Azua.

The official revealed that another Community Sports Center is currently being built in the municipality of Mella, Independencia province, and that three other multipurpose facilities are being repaired in the Enriquillo municipality, in Barahona, as well as in Pedro Santana, Elías Piña and in the municipality Las Matas de Farfán, in San Juan.

The construction of this Sports and Community Center in the municipality of Sabana Yegua, is added to the lifting and repair of another 13 fields in the same number of communities.

“With this infrastructure, the children and young people of Azua will have the opportunity to practice sports and get away from vices and crime,” he said.

In other actions in the South region

The sports minister also explained that a total of 70 courts have been repaired in the different provinces of the southern region, including 13 in Barahona, nine in Bahoruco, eight in Peravia, eight in Independencia and seven in Elías Piña, and 13 in Azua .

He said that 45 other fields are in the repair process, of which 10 will be in San Juan, nine in San José de Ocoa, eight in Independencia and eight in Pedernales.

Likewise, two stadiums are being built in the Escondido and Guayabo sections, of the Las Matas de Farfán municipality, in San Juan de la Maguana, and two others are being repaired in the Salinas municipality, in Peravia, and the Tito Alcántara Stadium, in the municipality The Matas de Farfán.
