Preparations for the new “Air Force One” aircraft for the US President

The President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, has approved the new design of Air Force One, a special aircraft for the President’s air travel. The giant jumbo jet will be kept in a distinctive blue and white livery.

A statement issued by the US Air Force on Friday said that the new aircraft will retain the blue and white color tone, but will have slightly more unique and modern features.

The US government has awarded a contract to Boeing to upgrade two Boeing 747 aircraft that will replace the current aircraft used by the President in the next few years.

It is also worth mentioning here that the US President travels in ‘Air Force One’ for his visits. Two such aircraft are used by the President. The call sign of the planes used by the President of the United States is ‘Air Force’.

Earlier, former US President Donald Trump approved the color tone of Air Force One consisting of red, white and blue colors.

Regarding the change in the color of the aircraft, the White House spokesman said that the review by the Air Force indicated that the use of dark colors would not only increase the cost of upgrading the aircraft, but also delay its delivery. .

According to the Air Force, the new aircraft will also be equipped with electrical power upgrades, medical facilities and self-defense systems. The first aircraft will be used by the US President by 2027 and the second by 2028.

The current type of aircraft was first used by former US President George W. Bush Sr. in 1989, serving until 1993.

According to the White House website, the aircraft designed for Air Force One are equipped with the most advanced equipment and facilities in the world.

Air Force One aircraft are maintained and managed by the Presidential Airlift Group, which is part of the White House Military Office.

This airlift group was also established in 1944 by President Roosevelt who made the first air trip outside the country. Until 1959, US presidents continued to use Boeing 707 aircraft for travel. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy was the first president to fly on Air Force One, a US presidential jet.
