A small Portuguese village is rallying its entire population of 600 residents, providing free transportation to ensure no one misses their local football team’s historic cup match against a national rival.
The community of Rebordelo, located in northern Portugal, is mobilizing for Saturday’s third-round fixture in the Taça de Portugal, the country’s premier knockout football competition. Their local club, Rebordelo, is set to face Nacional. The match will take place at the Estádio Municipal de Vinhais.

This clash is widely considered a “unique moment” for both the parish and the club. Initially, many residents faced challenges traveling to the game.
In response, the local club partnered with the parish council to organize and fund complimentary bus services. These services will transport all fans who lack their own means of travel.
“It’s a unique moment for our parish and for the club. We couldn’t leave anyone out of this celebration,” a club official told local media. The official expressed emotion over the widespread enthusiasm for the match.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 3 PM local time.
The event promises an “authentic pilgrimage,” with dozens of families making the journey together. This initiative underscores the community’s pride in its team, representing the Vinhais municipality on a significant national football stage.
