Sometimes, the world of football shifts on its axis quicker than a goalkeeper can react to a long-range shot. One moment, a player is deep in pre-season drills, sweating under the Portuguese sun. The next, he’s charting a course for an entirely new continent, ready for a fresh start. That’s exactly what happened to Daniel dos Anjos.
The striker, a familiar face on Portuguese pitches, has now officially joined Ninh Binh FC in Vietnam. This move sees him leave União de Leiria, at least for a while. He’ll play for the Vietnamese club on loan until the current season wraps up. For Leiria fans, this is a big change. Dos Anjos was a major force in their attack last season. He netted 9 goals and helped with two assists, all while proudly wearing the club’s castle emblem.
It seems the whole deal came together very fast. “It all happened very quick,” Daniel dos Anjos told Brazilian reporters. “I was in pre-season with União de Leiria when they told me about the offer.” He saw it as a good deal for everyone involved. “It was a good offer, for both me and for the club,” he added. This kind of sudden opportunity is common in football, but it always marks a significant turn.
This leap to Asian football closes a long chapter for Dos Anjos. He spent eight years playing in Portugal. During that time, he represented the club from the city of Lis – that’s União de Leiria, of course. He also had spells with Tondela and Benfica B. Leaving behind nearly a decade of memories and connections must feel like a big step. Now, a new adventure awaits him far from home, under different skies, with a new team.
