Portuguese referee Gustavo Correia, who recently officiated a controversial domestic league match, has been appointed by UEFA to oversee an upcoming Conference League fixture between Poland’s Jagiellonia Bialystok and Finland’s KuPS Kuopio.
The 35-year-old official, from the Porto Football Association, will be in charge of the match scheduled for Thursday, November 27, at 8:00 PM local time.
Correia previously drew scrutiny for his handling of a Portuguese Liga match on Matchday 11, where Benfica and Casa Pia played to a 2-2 draw.
He will be joined by fellow Portuguese officials André Dias and Tiago Costas as assistants. Clåudio Pereira will serve as the fourth official.
Bruno Esteves has been named as the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), with André Narciso as the Assistant VAR (AVAR).
