Portuguese police have adopted a transparent approach to road safety, publicly announcing the specific locations of speed cameras for November 2025 across the country.
The Public Security Police (PSP) stated that this initiative, part of their “Quem o avisa…” (He who warns…) campaign, aims to promote road safety and reduce accidents by preventing speeding.
The force emphasizes that the prior disclosure of radar locations is intended to alert drivers and encourage more responsible behavior behind the wheel, rather than solely to penalize infractions.
Speed detection devices will be deployed throughout November in all district capitals and various localities. These include urban areas, national roads, and high-traffic expressways.
For instance, in Lisbon, cameras will be active on November 18 on Av. Marginal at Km 18.2 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time. On November 24, they will be on the A2 highway at the 25 de Abril Bridge from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
The PSP also listed locations in other major cities, such as Porto, where radars are scheduled for November 27 on Av. Marechal Gomes da Costa from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM local time.
The comprehensive list covers every district, including Faro, Braga, Coimbra, and Madeira, with specific dates and operating hours detailed for each location.
