Madalena Costa put on a show in Italy this Saturday. The young Portuguese skater dominated the European Junior Free Skating Championship. She clinched the gold medal, marking a fantastic moment for her country. This win in Trieste, Italy, means Portugal has now secured two podium finishes.

Madalena, who hails from Madeira, finished her routine with an impressive 92.43 points. She simply outskated everyone else. Italy’s Gioaia Fiori took second place with 81.16 points. Fellow Italian Giada Romiti rounded out the podium in third, scoring 75.78 points. Madalena left her competitors in the dust.

This isn’t just a one-off success for Madalena Costa. She keeps adding to her already impressive collection of titles. This European junior win is her third one in a row. Before that, she also won a gold medal as a cadet. Plus, she holds two world titles from recent seasons. This skater clearly knows how to win big competitions.

The same event featured 20 talented skaters. Another Portuguese athlete, Mariana Almeida, also competed. She finished in ninth place with a score of 47.46 points. It was a strong showing among a tough field.

Madalena’s victory capped a good weekend for Portugal. On Friday, JoĂŁo Pedro Cruz also made his mark. He earned a bronze medal in the junior category. The Portuguese team is definitely making waves in the skating world.
