Portuguese sisters Matilde and Francisca Jorge secured their seventh doubles title of the season, and 24th overall, at the ITF W75 event in Quinta do Lago, Portugal, showcasing their strong partnership with a comeback victory.
The top-seeded duo, ranked 101st and 103rd in the world for doubles respectively, defeated Czech Anna Siskova and Russian Maria Timofeeva in a hard-fought final. They overcame a one-set deficit to triumph 4-6, 7-5, 10-7 in a decisive super tie-break.
The match lasted one hour and 42 minutes on Saturday. This victory marked their 24th championship from 43 joint appearances in international tournament finals.
Hailing from Guimarães, the sisters have established themselves as a formidable force on the international circuit.
Earlier on the same day, Francisca Jorge, ranked 255th in singles, had lost her semi-final match in the singles draw. She fell to Maria Timofeeva, ranked 164th, with a score of 6-2, 6-4.
