To get to that elimination match, Pedrosa and Campos had to fight hard in their group. They secured second place in Group A, which moved them into the Round of 24. That crucial win came against Latvia’s Ardis Bedritis and Arturs Rinkevics. It was a grinding 2-1 victory, with set scores of 21-14, 19-21, and a decisive 15-11 in the final set.
Their tournament started earlier in the week, on Wednesday. In their opening match, the Portuguese duo faced the German brothers Jonas and Benedikt Sagstetter. That first game was also a tight affair, despite the 2-0 loss. Pedrosa and Campos kept things close, losing the sets 26-24 and 21-18.
