Portugal Youth Padel Worlds: Women Advance to Quarters, Men Eliminated

The young padel players representing Portugal experienced the full spectrum of emotions this Tuesday. At the Youth Padel World Championship in Reus, the day brought both cheers and disappointment for the national teams.

Women’s Team Soars

The morning belonged entirely to the women’s squad. They continued their impressive run, delivering a clear 3-0 victory over Uruguay. It was a dominant performance from start to finish. Portugal barely dropped a single game during the entire tie. This win sealed their second straight group stage triumph. More importantly, it guaranteed their spot in the quarter-finals. They now stand among the top eight teams globally.

Men’s Team Faces Challenge

However, the afternoon brought a different story for the men’s team. They stepped onto the court to face a formidable French side. The match ended in a 3-0 defeat for Portugal. Despite the determined effort from the young Portuguese players, France’s skill was obvious in every contest. This result unfortunately knocked Portugal out of the running for the quarter-finals. Now, the men’s national team will focus on securing a maximum finish of ninth place.
