Football has a way of telling stories, and the transfer window often writes new chapters. A fresh face is stepping onto the pitch at Estádio Manuel Marques. Vera Cid has officially joined the Torreense senior women’s football squad. This is a move many will watch closely as she brings new energy to the team.
She’s a central midfielder, just 22 years old. Don’t let her age fool you. Vera has already worn the national jersey 20 times for youth teams. Her talent stands out, even at this early stage in her career. Last season, she played for Estoril. She was on loan there from Sporting, a big name in the sport, making this switch an interesting progression for her.
Her football story began early. Vera grew up in Cascais, a place known for its vibrant community. She learned her trade at Sporting’s famous academy, a true breeding ground for top players. By the 2021/22 season, she made it to their senior team. She stayed with them until last season. Then, mid-season, she moved to Estoril. Estoril, often called “the Canaries,” also plays in the top flight, Liga BPI. This new chapter at Torreense is a sign of new ambitions for both the player and the club.
