Portugal Wins European Acrobatic Gymnastics Championship for the First Time Ever

Portugal’s acrobatic gymnastics team made history at the European Championships in Luxembourg.
The women’s group, comprising Alícia Santos, Leonor Carreira, and Ema Fernandes, took gold in the balance, dynamic, and all-around events.
They scored a record 29.440 points in the balance routine, the highest score of the competition.

Standout Performances

The men’s duo, Miguel Lopes and Gonçalo Parreira, excelled in the dynamic event, taking gold with 27.890 points.
They also won bronze in the balance and all-around events.
Other notable performances came from the women’s pair, Beatriz Carneiro and Inês Faria, who won silver in the balance event with 27.870 points.
The mixed pair, Lara Fernandes and Guilherme Henriques, took bronze in the dynamic event, also scoring 27.870 points.

Overall Medal Count

Portugal topped the medal table with four golds, one silver, and three bronzes.

  • Israel came second with three golds, five silvers, and one bronze.
  • Ukraine finished third with three golds, two silvers, and two bronzes.
