Portugal’s men’s and women’s padel teams will confront reigning champion Spain and other formidable opponents after the draw for the European Padel Championship group stage. The continental tournament, featuring the eight best national teams, is scheduled for October 21-25 in La Línea de la Concepción, Spain.
Portugal arrives with renewed ambition, aiming to improve on its previous performances. At the last edition in Cagliari, Italy, the men’s team secured a bronze medal, while the women’s team finished fourth.
Both Portuguese national teams have been placed in Group A for the upcoming competition.
The men’s team, coached by Gervásio del Bono, will compete against Sweden, the United Kingdom, and reigning champions Spain. Their campaign begins on October 21 against Sweden. They will face the United Kingdom on October 22, culminating with a match against Spain on October 23.

The women’s team, under the guidance of João Barros, is set to play against the Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain in their Group A fixtures. Their opening match on October 21 is against the Netherlands. This is followed by a game against Belgium on October 22, before a final group stage encounter with Spain on October 23.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals of the competition, which concludes on October 25.
