Popular will support CRESO athletes with its Wellness Center

Banco Popular Dominicano will contribute to the physical and mental preparation of 20 high-performance athletes integrated into the Creando Sueños Olímpicos (CRESO) alliance, who will participate in the training programs of the Popular Well-being Center, in order to increase their chances of facing to the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.

For these purposes, the bank signed a collaboration agreement with CRESO so that these athletes can access the facilities and training programs of the Popular Well-being Center, a space for physical training and improvement of the quality of life for the staff of the Banco Popular and which is managed by the supplier company Vyana Wellness Center.

Thanks to this agreement, the Vyana Wellness Center coaching team, in coordination with the national coaches of the benefited athlete teams, will design a special program of functional exercise routines, psychological approach, nutrition and physiotherapy so that these twenty athletes take place at the Popular sports establishment, which has first class facilities.

The athletes who will enjoy this benefit belong to the Dominican Athletics Federation and the Dominican Weightlifting Federation. Among them are Marileidy Paulino, current world gold medalist in the 4×400 mixed relay and Olympic runner-up in the 400 meters, as well as ambassador of the Popular brand; and also his fellow 4×400 medalists Lidio Andrés Feliz, Alexander Ogando and Fiordaliza Cofil.

Other track and field athletes such as Luguelín Santos, Marysabel Senyu, Yancarlos Martínez, Rosa Angélica Ramírez, Anabel Medina Ventura, Liranyi Alonso Tejada and Juander Santos also benefit.

Among the group of weightlifting athletes who access this courtesy are Crismery Santana Peguero, Verónica Saladín Tolentino, Nathalia Novas Jiménez, Julio César Cedeño Mejía, Ezequiel Germán, Sindy Santana Carrión, Beatriz Pirón Candelario, Dahiana Ortiz and Yudelina Mejía Peguero.

With this contribution to the Dominican Olympic athletes, Popular deepens its support for CRESO, the entity of which it is a founding member, and underlines its commitment to the best exponents of the sport, whose achievements and values ​​raise the name of the Dominican Republic. .

In this sense, Mrs. Antonia Antón de Hernández, Senior Executive Vice President of Human Management, Cultural Transformation, Credit Administration and Compliance of Popular, highlighted the importance and value that this agreement has for the entity for benefiting “young Dominicans who make us proud enormously for their dedication and effort, who have given us moments of great satisfaction as a country”.

“We believe in sport, we believe in teamwork, we believe in the desires that come from the heart and are achieved with effort and dedication. Through our Popular Welfare Center, we are opening the doors of our home to them,” said the executive.

The president of CRESO, Mr. Felipe Vicini, stressed the importance of the agreement as it enhances the performance of athletes, while strengthening CRESO’s mission of promoting the development of high-performance Olympic athletes, whose merits magnify the country and serve an example to the youth.
