Politt wins the Tour of Germany

Nils Politt has won the first Tour of Germany of his career. In the event that takes place in his own country, the Bora-Hansgrohe team rider held the lead for just four seconds over his teammate Pascal Ackermann and Alexander Kristoff of the UAE. It was precisely the Norwegian who defeated Ackermann in the final sprint and secured his second stage win on this year’s Deutschland Tour.

The final stage between Erlangen and Nuremberg fulfilled its promise: short, only 156 kilometers long, but packed with numerous climbs that were noticeable from the start. Politt and his teammates had to fight until the last lap to neutralize all the attacks on the red jersey.

Thus, after Matej Mohorič in 2018 and Jasper Stuyven in 2019, Politt goes down in history as the first German cyclist to win the reborn Deutschland Tour.
