Police Recover Stolen Gun in Marconi Neighborhood Near Aparicio Saravia

The police made a significant discovery this Friday, recovering the stolen royal weapon of Officer Pablo Dávila, a 30-year-old police officer who was killed on Monday night. The recovery was made during a search operation conducted in the afternoon at the intersection of Aparicio Saravia and Simón del Pino, just one block from Juan Acosta, where the homicide took place in the Marconi neighborhood.

In a separate raid, police seized ten firearms, including short and long guns, at the intersection of Óscar Bonaudi and Lieutenant Rinaldi in the New Llastica neighborhood. This operation was carried out by members of the Homicide Department. In total, seven suspicious men were arrested during both procedures. The Republican Guard personnel, with the support of an armored intervention truck, and the Scientific Police were involved in the operations.

As part of the investigation into Officer Dávila’s death, the Homicide Department of the National Police has charged three individuals: two men aged 20 and 23, and an 18-year-old. The 23-year-old man has been charged as the author of a particularly aggravated homicide crime, while the 18-year-old and her brother have been charged as co-authors.

The events that led to Officer Dávila’s death began on Monday night when he was circulating on his motorcycle along Aparicio Saravia and stopped to respond to a traffic accident. At that moment, the woman and man implicated as co-authors threw stones at the police to slow them down. When Officer Dávila stopped, the accused individual shot him seven times as he attempted to draw his gun. The officer fell to the ground, and the perpetrator stole his gun and tried to collect the shells.
