Inter Movistar opens the season in Torrejón, with its people in the stands, this Saturday against Ribera Navarra (18:30). Last season, those of Tino Pérez shone in a very cuppering year: Copa de España, Copa del Rey and Super Cup in the record, in a team that was in the process of change. The thorn was the League, which also deprived them of being able to play the Champions League this year. This summer four were the new faces that came to the Jorge Garbajosa track: Rafa López, Igor Carioca, Raúl Gómez and Pol Pacheco. The latter, from ElPozo. At 27 years old, he is in a mature moment: newly married this summer, he feels that he is in the best time to shine on the track.
“It was a long preseason, but I feel very good, very motivated. It is true that in the first weeks I had some physical problems, although I am already practically full, “says Pol Pacheco for AS after one of his training sessions prior to the initial League duel. “I have learned a lot in a short time. Tino Pérez’s system is perfect for my characteristics, the sensations are very good,” he highlights. His departure from ElPozo this summer was somewhat convulsive, since it was not easy for the Catalan. “I said I was not happy and that I would like to go out. At first, they told me no problem. I started talking to inter and the matter turned around. They gave me a lot of problems and I had a bad time. I didn’t go the way I wanted, it was difficult, but the important thing is that I’m here, and that’s why I’m very happy “, celebrates.
In addition to ElPozo, Pol Pacheco is a youth squad for Barça, a club where he spent almost eight years. Then, after a tour in Italy (Lazio and Cogianco) he returned to Spain in the Santa Coloma. “I have been in great teams, and now in the best in the world. The difference compared to Italy is great: here everything is more professional and tactically much superior”, highlights. Now, you want to start with Movistar as soon as possible. “They spoke to me great about Tino Pérez, and it was one of the reasons why I wanted to come. He asks me to be vertical, to enjoy, and also to defend of course. Let it be myself,” he explains.
A verticality that is seen less and less in futsal today. “That’s right. There are fewer and fewer, and seeing players who do a lot of dribbling is difficult. I love doing them. Everything is more defensive and risks less, which diminishes the spectacle. It is nothing new, it is our daily bread, “he says. Of his new teammates, the one he knows best is Raúl Gómez, from the youth squad era at Barça, while the rest of his numerous clashes against them . “When we are all settled, with those of the World Cup and others, we will have to pay a dinner for being new”, he says between laughs. First stop: Ribera Navarra. “La Liga is the most important title we have at stake this year. We arrived in great condition and aspired to everything. It will be a very close competition,” he says. And in January, there is a Eurocup with Spain. “I wish I could be there, I would be proud to defend the shirt of my country. I will fight for it.” The season starts.
