Canadian Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is scheduled to appear on a Thursday afternoon release of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” utilizing the massive audio platform to advocate for Canadian economic interests. The interview, recorded in Austin, Texas, before Poilievre traveled to New York, is aimed at appealing directly to the American public amid impending tariffs from President Donald Trump’s administration.
Poilievre stated his primary objective for the appearance is to “maximize Canadian leverage” ahead of the upcoming Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement renegotiations. The strategy focuses on protecting Canadian auto, steel, aluminum, and lumber workers from protective United States trade measures.
The highly anticipated episode is expected to run upwards of three hours. This shift in international trade strategy marks a distinct reversal from the Conservative leader’s previous media approach.
During a May 2025 episode of his podcast, Rogan claimed he had previously invited Poilievre on the show during a federal election campaign. Rogan noted at the time that the offer was declined because Poilievre’s advisers deemed the appearance “too problematic.”
Recently, Poilievre announced on Peter Mansbridge’s podcast that he is abandoning a strictly controlled media strategy in favor of talking “to everybody” in order to reach wider audiences.
Rogan’s podcast averages over 10 million listeners per episode. The host has historically been critical of former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, while publicly praising Poilievre’s political messaging as “common sense.”
