Poco, the smartphone brand spun off from Xiaomi, has launched its F8 series, aiming at the premium market with flagship specifications and an exclusive sound tuning collaboration with audio giant Bose.
The new F8 Ultra, positioned as the flagship, boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, clocking speeds up to 4.61 GHz. This is complemented by a VisionBoost D8 chip designed to enhance display performance and an advanced 6,700 mm2 cooling chamber.
A key feature across the series is the “Sound by Bose” technology. The renowned U.S. audio firm Bose has tuned the sound quality for a unique experience, eliminating the need for external Bose equipment.
The F8 Ultra features a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with LTPS technology, offering 1.5K resolution and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. It supports adaptive refresh rates up to 120 Hz and integrates an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
Its camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 50-megapixel periscope zoom lens capable of 5x lossless magnification, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens. A 32-megapixel camera handles selfies.
Powering the F8 Ultra is a substantial 6,500 mAh battery, supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. The device runs on HyperOS 3, based on Android 16, and incorporates numerous AI features, including Google Gemini.
Poco commits to four years of software updates and six years of security patches for the F8 Ultra. It features a metal frame and IP68 water resistance, allowing submersion in up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. The phone also supports eSIM functionality.
Available in Denim Blue and Black, the F8 Ultra is sold via Xiaomi’s online store in the United Kingdom. Pricing starts at approximately $699 for the 12 GB RAM/256 GB storage model and rises to about $763 for the 16 GB RAM/512 GB configuration.
The Poco F8 Pro serves as a slightly more accessible version with some scaled-back specifications. It utilizes the previous-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, operating at 4.32 GHz.
To manage heat during intensive use, the F8 Pro incorporates Poco’s proprietary IceLoop 3-layer 3D cooling system.
The F8 Pro comes with a 6.59-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, supporting a 120 Hz refresh rate and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. Its camera system includes a 50-megapixel main sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel zoom lens offering 2.5x lossless zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens.
It is equipped with a 6,210 mAh battery and supports 100W wired fast charging. Like its Ultra counterpart, the F8 Pro also runs on HyperOS 3 and is guaranteed four years of software updates and six years of security patches.
The F8 Pro shares a metal frame and IP68 water and dust resistance, along with eSIM support. It is available in Black, Blue, and Titanium Silver.
Pricing for the F8 Pro in the United Kingdom begins around $508 for the 12 GB RAM/256 GB storage variant. A 12 GB RAM/512 GB storage option is available for approximately $572.
