On the night of Friday 13 to Saturday 14 August, in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes), a woman was burned and then pursued by her attacker, armed with a knife. Her husband, suspected of being the author of these events, was arrested and later taken into police custody.
The events occurred precisely in the Ariane district around midnight, as reported France Blue. And according to the first elements of the investigation, the 38-year-old woman was initially attacked at the family home.
Severely burned by her husband, she later ran away from their home, but as a witness relates, her 33-year-old husband tried to reach her holding a knife in his hand.
The young woman was on the side of Boulevard de l’Ariane, not far from the Lino-Ventura theater, when firefighters arrived. Very quickly, they took care of her and discovered that she had second degree burns on her back.
After receiving first aid, the victim was taken to the hospital by SMUR Nice, and was then treated at the Marseille burn service after being transported by helicopter. By Friday night, his prognosis was compromised.
The suspect first managed to escape, but the escape did not last long as he was finally arrested a little later that night. Arrested, he was later questioned by the police at the Nice security department.
Until now, the couple was not known for domestic violence. On the other hand, the man had already been sighted by the police services during cases of violent robberies, as explained by the prosecution. For this investigation, a judicial investigation must be opened for intentional murder of a spouse.
