Major League Baseball history tells that three pitchers have been the only ones to throw a shutout, not walk, and they instead as hitters receive three transfers in the game.

The last of these pitchers with this feat was left-handed but right-handed hitter Ty Blach of the San Francisco Giants, when on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, he blanked the homeowners at achieving the first shutout of his career, a clash that ended 10-0, allowed seven hits, no free tickets and he instead had three of the 10 his team received.

The other two scouts with this achievement are right-hander Robin Roberts, of the Phillies, on Wednesday, August 22, 1951 at Shibe Park in Philadelphia and who beat the Chicago Cubs 4 – 0 without transferring and he as a batter received three free tickets of four that his team had and the first pitcher to achieve this was Bill Donovan, of the Detroit Tigers, on Wednesday, June 29, 1910 at Bennett Park, Detroit when he left the White Sox blank 2 – 0 did not award tickets and he received three.

Did you know that the first two players to be declared free agents in the major leagues were pitchers Andy Messersmith and Dave McNally in 1975.
