Pío Deportes and Grupo Corripio will broadcast the World Baseball Classic

The Dominican Republic will be one of the countries that will have the privilege of witnessing the World Baseball Classic on an open screen, scheduled to take place from March 8 to 21.

Pío Deportes, a company that acquired the rights and has just done the same with the “Qatar 2023” World Cup, will broadcast the 47 games on channels 2, from Teleantillas, and 8/39 from Coral, both from Grupo de Comunicaciones Corripio, as well as on the web.

The World Classic will begin on Tuesday, March 7 with the duel between Venezuela and the Dominican Republic, teams that together with Puerto Rico and Spain make up Group C, called “Group of Death”.

In Group A, Cuba, Chin, Brazil and Japan will compete. On their side, the United States, Mexico, Italy and Canada make up D, while Australia, the Netherlands, South Korea and Taiwan make up B.

Veteran Nelson Cruz and the baseball operations team that assists him are working on the conformation of the representative from Quisqueyan, who in 2013 lifted the champion trophy in the third edition of the World Classic.

Sandy Alcántara, winner of the National League Cy Young Award last season in the Major Leagues, asked for the ball to open the first game against Venezuela. The rivalry of both countries has grown a lot in recent years due to the quality of the players they have in the Majors.
