Pidcock triumphs at Rucphen

Tom Pidcock achieved a huge victory in the World Cup event in Rucphen. The Briton, from the Ineos team, beat Iserbyt in some exciting final meters, in which Pidcock changed the rhythm in the board area to march to victory. In this way, he became the first Briton to win a test of World Cup and the first, since 2013, to succeed without being Dutch or Belgian, as he points out @ cyclocross24. Vanthourenhout completed the podium in a race without truce, with the favorites in the positions of honor and that had emotion until the end.

In the days before, Pidcock left some interesting statements: “I don’t want to always be third”, he pointed. This is due to the dominance of two of the greatest winners in the history of this modality: Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert. The two were absent in this test. The former postponed his return due to knee problems, while the Jumbo racer is focused on his road team. Pidcokc, not having enough UCI points to start at the top positions at the start, had to come back from the beginning, and he did.

As for the Spanish, once again Felipe Orts was the best, with a 14th position on a day complicated by falls and stops from the start. And this Sunday, a new appointment in Namur. “Will I win? Maybe, but I have to bounce back from this first win,” said Pidcock after his victory. We will see.
