Pidcock returns to MTB and Felipe Orts, to the road

The 2023 season reaches a point where specialists in different types of cycling decide to change their records usual to shine in other disciplines.

One of the clearest examples is that of the British cyclist Tom Pidcock, who after a remarkable road debut with victory at Strade Bianche, third place in the Amstel Gold Race and second place in Liège-Bastogne-Liège, has decided to change registration and focus his calendar on the MTB seasona modality of which he is the current European champion and Olympic gold medalist.

The Ineos team announced this Tuesday the calendar that will be carried out by Pidcock and the women’s world champion, the French Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, in the coming weeks on the mountain biking calendar. Both will compete from this Friday until Sunday in the test of the Guéret French Cup to participate in Bike Revolution (May 7), before his first major MTB event at the Novo Mesto World Cup (May 12-14).

Orts is back on the road

As Pidcock makes the move to the MTB calendar, other figures in the peloton return to the road again, as is the case of the Spanish Felipe Orts.

Orts, Spanish cyclocross champion, will make his road debut with Burgos-BH in 2023 this Monday during the Eschborn-Frankfurt race, one-day race belonging to the UCI World Tour calendar.

A test that Burgos-BH will attend, as well as with Felipe Orts, with Ángel Fuentes, Clement Alleno, Eric Fagúndez, Cyril Barthe, Jesús Ezquerra and Jetse Bol to try to be protagonists before the great teams of the peloton.
