The Association of Owners of Pharmacies of San Pedro de Macorís swore in its new board of directors, which will be chaired by Francisco De León, who upon taking office assured that will fight for the equity of pharmacies that do not belong to large chainsIn addition, it will seek to have a representation in the Ministry of Public Health for decision-making related to those businesses.
“We are going to fight so that there is equity in the pharmacy sector, in the same way We are going to approach the Public Health authorities to find out the Resolution they issued, where the person we had there as representation was unknown or ignored,” De León said in his speech.
Upon swearing in the new board of directors, the president of the National Association of Pharmacy Owners, Tony Rodríguez highlighted the importance of copying models of pharmacy cooperatives that have been implemented in other countries, with the aim of guaranteeing efficiency, profitability and sustainability.
He anticipated that he orwill organize a tour to Colombia to see and study the Copydrogas cooperative modelwho has more than 3,000 individual-owned pharmacies capable of competing with the large chains in that country, who have pooled capital.
