PGL Astana 2025 CS2 Tournament Guide: Dates, Format, Teams, and Prize Pool

The highly anticipated PGL Astana 2025 is kicking off on May 10, bringing together top teams from around the world for a thrilling competition in Counter-Strike 2. Four Brazilian teams are set to make their mark in this prestigious tournament. The event promises to be an intense showdown, with matches spanning nine days.

Tournament Format

The PGL Astana 2025 will follow a Swiss format for its initial stage. Teams will compete in best-of-three matches, with the top eight advancing to the playoffs. To move forward, teams need to secure three wins. Conversely, three losses will result in elimination. The remaining eight teams will then enter a single-elimination bracket, where one loss means the end of their journey.

The knockout stage will feature best-of-three matches, except for the grand final, which will be a best-of-five showdown on May 18.

Participating Teams

The tournament boasts an impressive lineup of 16 teams from across the globe. The participating teams include FURIA, paiN Gaming, MIBR, ODDIK, Team Spirit, NaVi, Aurora, The MongolZ, G2 Esports, GamerLegion, Virtus.pro, Astralis, M80, BIG, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and HOTU.

Brazilian Teams’ Debut

The Brazilian contingent is set to make a strong impression from the start. Their debut matches are scheduled for May 10. Here’s a look at their opening fixtures:

  • ODDIK takes on Astralis at 2 AM (Brasília time)
  • FURIA faces The MongolZ at 5 AM
  • MIBR battles G2 at 5 AM
  • paiN Gaming clashes with HOTU at 11 AM

Prize Pool

A total prize pool of $1.25 million is up for grabs, with the winning team taking home $500,000. The grand prize is a significant $200,000, making the competition even more fierce.
