A 23-year-old CRS, belonging to Saran’s company in Loiret, committed suicide overnight from Wednesday to Thursday in a hotel in Perpignan where he was traveling.
The young man, single and childless, killed himself with his service weapon while he was alone in his room, said this source.
His body was discovered the morning after entering the service where his absence was noted. No writing was found at his side to explain his gesture, according to the police source. This is the 24th suicide of a police officer since the beginning of the year, the same source added.
“Deep sadness after the suicide of a peacekeeper of the CRS 51. We think of his family, his relatives and his colleagues”, reacted the national police on his Twitter account.
