Rookie Jeremy Peña hit two home runs, capped by a two-out, two-run shot in the ninth off Ryan Tepera (1-2) to win it.
Trout struck out seven straight times in the first two games. In the latter, the three-time AL MVP reached base in his first at-bat on a Pena error at shortstop before striking out in his next two plate appearances.
Trout was flied out in his final at-bat to extend his streak to 14-0. He is in for another strong season, batting .272 with 23 homers and 47 RBIs, despite his second losing streak of the year—his career worst 26-0 ended June 6.
