Pedro Malheiro Signs Four-Year Deal with Al Wasl

Al Wasl just pulled off a major signing. Portuguese defender Pedro Malheiro is joining the UAE club, led by Luís Castro. The 24-year-old right-back left Turkish team Trabzonspor and signed a four-year deal.

Trabzonspor made a pretty penny from the transfer – 7 million euros, plus 1.5 million in sports bonuses. Boavista, Malheiro’s former team, gets a cut too. They’re owed 700,000 euros, thanks to a 10% stake in the defender’s economic rights. They’ll also get 210,000 euros from a solidarity mechanism. Trabzonspor bid farewell to Malheiro, wishing him luck at his new club. He had a decent run with them, scoring six goals and making four assists in 43 games.
