Paxful and Mayor of Miami Are Giving Away 500 Tickets to Bitcoin 2022 Conference

Paxful, the digital payment platform, has reportedly partnered with the nonprofit “Built with Bitcoin Foundation” and the mayor of Miami. Together they want to develop a new educational initiative around Bitcoin (BTC) and financial literacy.


Well-known speakers will be present

It is reported that approximately 500 free tickets to the Bitcoin 2022 Conference will be given away through the initiative to local colleges and universities and to local residents. The conference is scheduled for April 6-9 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Typically, these cards sell for $899 each.

Those who can obtain a card in this way will have access to the full agenda of the conference. Some well-known speakers will be in attendance this year, including Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor, US Senator Cynthia Lummis, entrepreneur Peter Thiel and Cathie Wood of Ark Invest.

It is reported that Venture Miami will lead the ticket giveaway, a portfolio team assembled by Mayor Suarez to promote innovation, job creation and diversity in high-growth sectors such as information technology.

Mayor of Miami is Pro-Bitcoin

Miami’s mayor has completely switched to Bitcoin in a relatively short period of time. He now also receives a part of salary in the top cryptocurrency. In fact, he would like to receive his next salary entirely in Bitcoin. He reports this via a Tweet on Twitter.

Also, the mayor of Miami has set up a program where Miami residents can earn a Bitcoin dividend. The program is powered by the MiamiCoin cryptocurrency, which helps fund municipal projects by generating revenue. As of January 2022, MiamiCoin had generated more than $21 (€19) million in additional revenue for the city.
