Shabab Al Ahli has made history by claiming the UAE President’s Cup title, defeating Al Sharjah 2-1.
The win marks Paulo Sousa’s fourth trophy with the club this season.
The match got off to a rocky start for Shabab Al Ahli, with Al Sharjah’s Meloni scoring within the first 14 minutes.
However, Yuri César stepped up to equalize just before halftime and give his team the lead early in the second half, scoring both goals in the 45+1′ and 63′ minutes.
A Historic Season
This victory is a testament to Sousa’s impressive stint with Shabab Al Ahli.
The Portuguese coach has now led the team to four major titles: the league championship, the UAE Super Cup, the Qatar-UAE Super Cup, and now the UAE President’s Cup.
Shabab Al Ahli’s President’s Cup win is also significant for the club’s history, as it marks their first title since 2021.
With 11 UAE President’s Cup trophies, they now hold the record for the most titles won by any club.
