Paul Stanley: No more La Casa de los Famosos México, prioritizes mental health, fatherhood.

For many, La Casa de los Famosos México was a wild ride, full of drama and clever plans. But for Paul Stanley, one of the most talked-about contestants from the 2023 season, it turned into something deeper. It was a face-off with his own past. It was a big test for his mental well-being. And it marked a turning point in his life and career.

"It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done," Paul shared in an exclusive chat with Us Weekly a few months ago. He was promoting his new TV show, "Lo tomas o lo dejas," on TelevisaUnivision at the time. He spoke with the clear understanding of someone who has been through dark times. A severe anxiety attack hit him during the show’s third week. It forced him to stop and confront old pains he thought he had already gotten over.

Paul had mentioned before how challenging it was to be trapped inside La Casa de los Famosos. He described it vividly: "We were locked up for two days. We didn’t even know if it was day or night. I felt like I was in a place with no time, no space." He called it an "emotional flashback" to really difficult times in his life.

Grief, Anxiety, and Protecting His Reputation

While inside the house, Paul didn’t just deal with being confined. He also faced tough memories connected to his father, Paco Stanley, and his death. He thought about his fight with anxiety, which started when he was 20. And he remembered the eating disorders he struggled with as a teenager.

Many people on the show chose to create fights to stand out. Paul, however, took a different path entirely.

"The kinds of people who go on La Casa de los Famosos are those who need to take risks," he told Us Weekly. "They have to make exciting content. They need to get attention, you could say. It’s just part of the show. And I’m not doing that anymore." He made it clear that taking care of himself was his main focus now.

"Honestly, you can put a lot on the line," Paul explained. "I’ve spent many years breaking myself, you know? Breaking myself to earn a spot, to have a job, to build a name for myself."

He finished with a firm statement:

"My main goal, and what I did inside La Casa de los Famosos, was to protect that. Because I can certainly party with my friends. But that’s private. Everyone doesn’t need to know about it. And I’m in a different stage of my life now."

The Mayito Meeting: An Open Wound, A Talk Still Needed

One of the most powerful moments on the reality show was Paul’s reunion with Mario Bezares, also known as "Mayito." Mario was a former colleague of Paul’s father, Paco Stanley. Years of distance and pain seemed to melt away. All of it was summed up in a simple look, a quiet silence, and a feeling of peace.

Paul had already thought about that moment, which affected both viewers and himself deeply. He shared his thoughts in a previous conversation with Mara Patricia Castañeda. He said, "I didn’t do it for higher ratings; I did it for myself. It felt strange, intense… but it was also healing."

He added, "There was a sense of peace. It wasn’t about forgiveness. It wasn’t about forgetting. It was simply… letting go."

Becoming a Dad: His New Top Priority

After such an emotionally draining experience, Paul came home to a new reality. He was greeted by his wife and their newborn daughter. "Coming home and seeing my daughter brought my soul back," he said. "Today, everything makes new sense."

His time on the reality show felt very different from the life stage he is in now. "Being a dad changed me," Paul stated. "It made me realize there are things I just don’t want to do anymore. Not because I can’t, but because I know clearly who I want to care for. And I know why it’s worth being well."
