Pau Gasol, the best player in the history of Spanish basketball, will be the new ambassador of Telefónica around the world in the next three years, until 2025in which he will represent the institutional and commercial brand in Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany and Latin American countries, the telecommunications company reports in a statement.
Telefónica will collaborate with Pau Gasol to promote the importance of healthy lifestyle habits and sport in today’s society, especially among the youngest. This is a project that the former player promotes through the Gasol Foundation, which he founded in 2013 with his brother Marc Gasol.
As Telefónica ambassador, Pau Gasol will also promote the visibility of Spanish basketball through Movistar Plus+. The Spanish player will participate in the most important broadcasts of the platform (NBA, ACB and Copa del Rey)will be part of new exclusive reports that will have the sole signature of Movistar Plus+ and will participate in news and programs of the same.
The international basketball star, who is also an entrepreneur and adviser on projects related to well-being, will share their knowledge, experiences and interests in the fields of supporting sports (Podium Scholarships), entrepreneurship (Wayra), technology (Telefónica Tech), or educational innovation (42), among others. “This appointment reinforces Telefónica’s commitment to sport and its constant support for Spanish basketball”, concludes the technology in its note.
