Pau García, record champion

Pau García has made history in the Asunción World Championship (Paraguay). The skater of the Spanish team in the free modality has been proclaimed world champion in his first World Cup as a senior with a record score of 279.64 points.

Pau García has carried out an extraordinary competition showing that he has no ceiling and this way closes an unforgettable year for Spanish skating, obtaining the European Championship and the Spanish Championship. The skater trained by Oscar Molins and Manel Vilarroya has had to come back with an outstanding long program after finishing second in the short program. Along with Pau, Italians Luca Lucaroni and Alessandro Liberatore have climbed on the podium.

The Spanish skater has won the silver medal in her first participation in a World Cup as a senior and the bronze obtained in the last European Championship. After finishing in third place with the short program, the second position in the long one has earned him to climb on the second step of the podium. The CP L’Aldea skater has obtained a total score of 160.86 points.

With these two medals, the Spanish delegation adds four golds and three silvers to the medal table.

For her part, Carla Escrich was only 0.15 tenths away from getting the bronze medal. The Caldes d’Estrac skater has improved her position on the short disc by qualifying as third on the long disc and has finished no metal. Italians Rebecca Tarlazzi and Letizia Ghiroldi were first and third.
