Three men suspected of having raped a young woman on the night of Saturday 7 to Sunday 8 August are currently detained at the Pau police station (Pyrénées-Atlantiques).
It was a passerby who sounded the alert after finding the victim on a downtown street around 4:30 a.m.
She was half naked and in shock, she reports France Blue, specifying that the young woman was immediately transferred to the hospital.
According to video surveillance images, used by the police, he had spent the night in a disco. As she was walking down the street to return home, six men accosted her.
They then took her to an apartment, where the rape occurred. Five people were arrested and later taken into police custody.
Two of them have since been released. The police custody of the other three defendants was extended for 24 hours, this Wednesday, August 11, by the deputy prosecutor of the Republic of Pau.
