Patrick Schwarzenegger and Abby Champion are officially a married couple. They tied the knot in a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony.
The 31-year-old actor, known from White Lotus, and his 28-year-old model bride exchanged their vows. Their wedding took place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the scenic Gozzer Ranch country club. This lovely spot in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, offered a perfect lakeside backdrop for their special day. Photos of the event were shared by news outlets like the Daily Mail and TMZ.
The happy couple chose matching cream-colored outfits for their big moment. Patrick looked sharp in a tuxedo featuring black velvet pants. Abby was stunning in a sleeveless dress, complete with a long, flowing veil.
The guest list included some familiar faces from Hollywood royalty. Patrick’s famous parents, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, were there to celebrate. His sister, Katherine Schwarzenegger, and her husband, actor Chris Pratt, also attended. (Arnold and Maria were married from 1986 until 2021).
Maria Shriver even gave a little hint about the wedding in her Sunday Paper newsletter. She wrote, "Although Maria is away this weekend celebrating her son’s wedding (congratulations Patrick and Abby!), we wonder what ideas she would have for all of us when starting this new season with meaning and purpose."
Abby’s family was also well-represented. Her parents, Greg and Laura Champion, were there, along with her sister, Baskin Champion, a former Miss Alabama Teen USA winner.
Reports noted that Abby’s bridesmaids wore cheerful yellow dresses. Patrick’s groomsmen kept it classic in dark tuxedos. Friends and family started arriving in Idaho on Thursday. This allowed for a few days of fun and festivities leading up to Saturday’s main event.
Leading up to the wedding, Abby celebrated her bachelorette party in Rosemary Beach, Florida, in August. She shared a bunch of photos from the trip on Instagram, showing her and her closest friends having a blast. They spent their time biking, swimming, and, of course, partying it up.
The Road to “I Do”
The journey to the altar has been a sweet, long one for the couple. Us Weekly first confirmed their relationship back in March 2016. However, they had actually been seeing each other since September 2015.
Patrick and Abby officially announced their engagement in December 2023. They shared the happy news with a joint Instagram post, simply captioned: "💍❤️FOREVER AND EVER ❤️💍".
Just four months after getting engaged, in April 2024, Patrick chatted with Us Weekly. He joked that he and Abby hadn’t even started planning the wedding. Their busy schedules were to blame. "We’re taking it slow!" he said at the time. "I’m working right now, so I’ll be out of town for a while."
An Unforgettable Proposal (Almost)
Patrick made sure his proposal to Abby was truly memorable. He shared that she had "no idea" it was coming. He planned it for dawn, catching her in the most natural way. "I did it at dawn, when she had no makeup, was wearing comfy clothes and was still half-asleep," he explained.
He also praised their relationship, noting how they’ve grown. "They have grown a lot, as individuals and in our relationship," Patrick said. "We continue to grow together and separately." He recalled they started dating when she was 18 and he was 21. He added, "every day gets better and better!"
It turns out Patrick’s brother-in-law, Chris Pratt, almost spilled the beans on the special moment. Patrick shared the story during a March 2025 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, with guest host Molly Sims. He wanted to find a way to surprise Abby after they had been together so long.
"So we went for a little walk at dawn, like 6 a.m., on the beach, and that’s when I did it," Patrick recalled. Both families were around for the big day. Chris’s help with the proposal setup nearly gave everything away.
"[He] put an umbrella on the beach, and he set up all these roses and flowers," Patrick remembered. "And right when we came down, he jumped out with the umbrella and ran away, and there was this beautiful flower arrangement. That’s where I proposed."
Patrick confirmed that Chris kept the secret from Abby "until the last second." Abby’s reaction was priceless. She asked, "Is that Chris?" and Patrick simply replied, "Yes."
This marks the first marriage for both Patrick and Abby. Patrick previously dated Miley Cyrus for five months between 2014 and 2015. Us Weekly reached out to the couple’s representatives for further comment on their joyful news.
