Sunrisers Hyderabad is struggling this season, sitting ninth on the points table. Their captain, Pat Cummins, is now being rumored to leave the IPL for Australia. Hyderabad’s playoff chances are slim, adding to the team’s woes.
What’s behind the speculation?
The rumors started after Cummins’ wife, Rebecca, posted on social media. She shared a picture with Cummins and wrote, “Goodbye India, we have loved visiting this beautiful country.” This post sparked speculation that Cummins might be leaving the IPL.
Cummins joined SRH this season after recovering from an ankle injury. Australia is set to play South Africa in the World Test Championship final in June, with Cummins as captain. Fans are guessing that he might return to Australia for this reason. However, nothing is confirmed yet.

A season of contrasts
SRH had a great run last season, reaching the IPL 2024 final. They lost to KKR in the final match. This season, however, they’re performing poorly. They’ve lost five out of seven games so far and are near the bottom of the points table. Their next match is against Mumbai Indians on April 23.
