Pas-de-Calais: 700,000 euros of cocaine found on a beach

On the beach of Ambleteuse, in Pas-de-Calais, the first suspicious package was spotted by walkers, Saturday September 11. Nine more have since appeared, and all have been identified as cocaine cakes. The value of the whole is estimated at 700,000 euros.

As soon as the first package was reported, the gendarmes went to the scene and it was decided to monitor the sectors. This not only allowed them to collect the following loaves of cocaine, but also to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.

Controlling walkers, the police indicate, to France blue, not to have observed any particular “influx” of suspicious persons. The cocaine cakes, each weighing 1.2kg, were likely carried by sea to the beach. Also, investigators try to study the currents to locate their starting point.

One of the hypotheses is that this drug would come from a boat whose crew, wishing to avoid a check, quickly got rid of this illegal cargo. It could also be that a boat carrying the cocaine sank nearby.
