The roads of Tarragona are already prepared for their great annual event. One week before the Rally de España, the Catalan asphalt expects a record participation of 111 teams. On this occasion, the participants of the final test of the European Championship and those of various promotion formulas have joined the penultimate round of the World Cup. Not a pin will fit in Salou in seven days.

The RACC, organizing club of the race, has officially presented the 57th edition of the Rally of Catalonia, the test that since 1991 has brought the World Championship to Spain. Once again it will be an asphalt rally with the characteristic Tarragona sections as the protagonists. The competition starts on Thursday with the ‘shakedown’ and the start ceremony, to make way for the specials proper Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

With the title already in the hands of Kalle Rovanpera since the previous event in New Zealand, The Spanish round of the World Cup still has several attractions. On the one hand, the fight for the brand title, for which Toyota and Hyundai are still fighting, in addition to the fight for the runner-up is still held by Ott Tanak and Thierry Neuville, the winner of the last two disputed editions.
