Paris restores the obligation to wear a mask but only in crowded spaces

The Paris Police Prefecture restored this Monday the obligation to wear a mask on the street, four days after being knocked down by the Justice, but now limited to places in the city with a high density of people where it cannot be maintained. the safety distance.

In a decree posted on its Twitter account, the Prefecture indicated that it takes note of the decision of the Administrative Court of Paris that on the 13th considered "inappropriate" the measure that had initially imposed the mask indiscriminately anywhere outdoors because that violated individual freedom.

In its new version, the decree states that the epidemic situation, with an incidence rate "extremely high and a very strong pressure in hospitals, it needs measures so that outdoor spaces, although the risks are limited, are not places of contamination".

Now you have to wear masks in markets, sales and street exhibitions; at any meeting or demonstration with 10 or more people; at or around bus and tram stops and around schools or universities at arrival and departure times.

The obligation also applies in the vicinity of stations or shopping centers and next to churches or other religious temples during services and ceremonies.

More generally, masks will be essential in situations where one meter distance between people cannot be respected in Paris.

Decrees like this will also be applied in the rest of the departments of the Ile-de-France region, the most populous in France with 12.3 million of the 67.4 million inhabitants of the country.
