Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal has addressed the growing controversy surrounding his upcoming film, ‘The Taj Story’. The film is facing demands for its release to be halted.
Rawal stated that the film aims to bring many untold stories to public attention. He recently shared details about the movie’s historical claims.
Speaking with ANI, Rawal described the film as exploring the architecture and evolution of the Taj Mahal. He asserted that the monument’s concept was “borrowed” and discussed the misconceptions that purportedly led to 22,000 people having their hands cut off during its construction.
“The truth has come out,” Rawal claimed regarding these historical allegations. He believes the film will reveal these long-hidden facts.
The actor also commented on the broader implications of such disputes. He noted that controversies “cause immense damage to the social fabric, people’s mindset, and a country like India.”
Rawal emphasized that the subject is a historical event, referenced in numerous 16th-century books. He highlighted early travelers’ accounts of the Taj Mahal’s construction, stating that the film intends to foster a “healthy debate” among audiences.
‘The Taj Story’ is set to premiere in cinemas on October 31. Tushar Amrish Goyal wrote and directed the film, with Suresh Jha serving as producer.
The cast features Paresh Rawal alongside actors Zakir Hussain, Amruta Khanvilkar, Namit Das, and Sneha Wagh.
