Pardo and Bassas save Spanish honor in Fafe

The Spanish army has saved the furniture in the Rally of Fafe e Felgueiras, sixth round of the European Championship, thanks to the triumphs achieved by Javier Pardo and Pep Bassas in their respective categories, ERC2 and ERC3. A joy after the shipwreck suffered by the men who were called to bring a great result of the sixth round of the European Championship.

The Spanish standard-bearer was Dani Sordo, but a break in the direction with a later departure brought him out of the fight for victory after his great performance in the previous continental event in Azores, where he was on the verge of triumph. It couldn’t shine either Efrén Llarena, who came in second place in the European Championship and an accident left him out of the competition. And also Iván Ares stayed in the ditch after starting a wheel.

The best overall was Nil Solans, who finished fifth after losing a lot of time after suffering a broken radiator. Without that problem I could have finished on the podium. And it was Pardo and Bassas who saved the pavilion. Pardo scored his fourth win of the year in the ERC2 category after those achieved in Poland, Rome and the Azores, and has established himself in the lead thanks to his unbeaten record so far. Joan Vinyes completed the Suzuki team’s double by finishing second. Bassas for his part added his third win of the season after those achieved in Rome and the Czech Barum, and remains in the fight for the ERC3 title.
