A new sci-fi horror RPG called Parasite Mutant is gearing up for release in 2026. This upcoming title draws its core inspiration directly from the beloved classic, Parasite Eve, a game many fans remember fondly from SquareEnix’s earlier days. It looks like a fresh take on a familiar genre, blending intense action with a gripping story.
This promising project comes from IceSitruuna, a development team previously known for their work on Frontier Hunter: Erza’s Wheel of Fortune. In Parasite Mutant, players will step into the shoes of Nova, a capable female officer gifted with special powers. Her mission takes her to a deserted island, a place crawling with mysterious creatures and unknown dangers. During her journey, Nova will confront events that are set to change her life forever.
The game boasts an interesting combat system named Active Time Chains, or ATC. This system cleverly mixes the tactical depth of classic 90s RPGs with modern gameplay ideas. Players need to think fast, managing their time to decide which action chains to use during combat. On top of this, dodging enemy attacks is key to survival, adding a layer of active engagement to the fights. Expanding the Experience
Parasite Mutant also plans to offer a New Game+ mode, giving players more reasons to return. In this mode, you can carry over skill points earned from previous playthroughs.
