Frenchman Dorian Foulon, 23, won gold in cycling in the individual pursuit (category C5) on Friday August 27 at the Tokyo Paralympic Games. This is the sixth medal for the French delegation in Japan, and the second in gold.
The paracyclist is definitely making some sacred Paralympic Games. After the title of his compatriot Alexandre Léauté in the same discipline (category C2) the day before, immediately combined with his silver medal in the kilometer time trial (category C1-C3), it is therefore Dorian’s turn. Foulon to become, this Friday, Paralympic champion.
The young man from Morbihan dominated Australian Alistair Donohoe in the final. World champion in the discipline, and world record holder during qualifying, Foulon, who suffers from an atrophy of his left leg, has fully assumed his status as favorite.
But unfortunately, he will not be accompanied on the podium by his teammate Kévin Le Cunff. The French cyclist was competing for the bronze medal but was outscored by Ukrainian Yehor Dementyev.
