Sunny Deol recently took to social media to praise his father, veteran actor Dharmendra, for his powerful role in the upcoming film ‘Ikkis’. Deol also extended special wishes to Augustya Nanda, who is co-starring in the movie.
Dharmendra, 89, continues to be an active presence in cinema. His performances consistently surprise audiences with their intensity and dedication.
The trailer for ‘Ikkis’ was released on October 29. It quickly garnered significant appreciation for the acting contributions of both Dharmendra and Augustya Nanda.
Sunny Deol shared the ‘Ikkis’ trailer on his Instagram account. His caption expressed profound admiration for his father and encouragement for his young co-star.
In his post, Sunny wrote, “Papa will rock again. Looking great, Papa. Love you.” He added, “Dear Augustya, many best wishes, you will also rock.”
Sunny’s Instagram caption also revealed more about the film’s premise. He stated, “He was twenty-one, and he will remain twenty-one.”
Dinesh Vijan and Maddock Films are presenting ‘Ikkis’. The film is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sriram Raghavan.
‘Ikkis’ tells the untold true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient. The movie is set to release in cinemas in December 2025.

The ensemble cast for ‘Ikkis’ also includes Jaideep Ahlawat, Simran Bhatia, Deepak Dobriyal, Vivaan Shah, Sikandar Kher, and Rahul Dev. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films.
Inspired by the courageous true story of Param Vir Chakra winner Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, ‘Ikkis’ is a compelling drama. It is set against the dramatic backdrop of the 1971 war.
In addition to his support for ‘Ikkis,’ Sunny Deol has a busy schedule of his own. His upcoming projects include ‘Border 2,’ ‘Lahore 1947’ with Aamir Khan, and ‘Ghabroo.’
‘Border 2’ is eagerly anticipated as a sequel to the iconic film ‘Border’. This follow-up is scheduled for release on January 22, 2026.
Deol is also slated to appear as Hanuman in Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana Part 1’. This mythological epic is expected to hit theaters during Diwali next year.
