Paolo Montero stopped being the coach of San Lorenzo

The San Lorenzo leadership decided this Thursday to request the resignation of coach Paolo Montero, despite the fact that in the last hours they had confirmed him to lead the team in the classic against Huracán.

According to what transpired at the club, early in the morning there was a meeting between Montero with the authorities of the board of directors, after which it was decided that the technician who took over the team in June would leave before he was four. months in his role.

Montero’s numbers in charge of the squad are not the best since in 112 days he led Boedo’s team and with 17 games played, San Lorenzo suffered eight defeats, obtained four victories and garnered five draws, with 15 goals in favor and 23 against. The coach had anticipated a week ago that his future would be marked by the next two games, first against River at the Monumental and then against Lanús at home. And as much as he took the lead in both games, in neither of them he could hold the score and ended up falling 3-1 in each.

The game crisis and results for Boedo’s team came from before, as they dragged another two games without victories, with a 2-1 loss at home against Colón and a 0-0 draw with Atlético in Tucumán. The last victory had been against Defense and Justice by 2-1 on date 13.

The entity is going through an institutional and sports crisis in the week before the classic against Huracán, which will be played next Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at the Tomás Adolfo Ducó stadium. For that match, the team will be led temporarily by Diego Monarriz and José Di Leo, awaiting the arrival of a new coaching staff. In principle, the main candidate for the leadership is Hernán Crespo, recently separated from San Pablo.
