Team India’s ODI Series Against England: Potential Comebacks
The highly anticipated ODI series between India and England is set to commence on 6 February. Although the Indian team has not been officially announced, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is expected to reveal the selected players soon. Speculations are rife about the potential return of all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer, along with the possible comeback of Arshdeep Singh.
Pandya’s Long-Awaited Return
According to recent reports, Pandya, Iyer, and Arshdeep Singh may be reinstated in Team India. Pandya has been absent from India’s ODI team for an extended period, with his last ODI appearance dating back to October 2023. His last T20 match was in November 2024. Currently, Pandya is actively participating in domestic matches, and although his performance has been unremarkable, he may be considered for the Champions Trophy.
Iyer’s Impressive Domestic Performance
Iyer has been in exceptional form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, showcasing his prowess with explosive centuries against Puducherry and Karnataka. His unbeaten innings of 137 runs against Puducherry and 114 runs against Karnataka have been particularly noteworthy. As a key player for Mumbai in domestic cricket, Iyer’s impressive performance may pave the way for his return to Team India.
Arshdeep Singh’s Lethal Bowling
Arshdeep Singh, who plays for Punjab in domestic cricket, has been bowling with remarkable precision and effectiveness. His recent performances have been impressive, with 4-4 wickets against Puducherry and Hyderabad, 5 wickets against Mumbai, and lethal bowling against Karnataka and Saurashtra. These performances may contribute to his potential comeback in Team India.
